The ENS mandates that organizations consider and implement a total of 75 security measures. The depth and extent of these measures vary depending on the criticality of the information and systems involved, which are categorized into three levels: BASIC, MEDIUM, or HIGH.
The ENS, established by Royal Decree 3/2010 and originating from Law 11/2007 on electronic access of citizens to Public Services, ensures that secure electronic means are available for interactions with the Administration. This framework is integral to the digital transformation of public services in Spain.
